What are the practice exams like?

In the real exam the reading part is done on a computer. The practice exams in the booklets are on paper, but the texts, questions and answers are like the real exam and just as difficult. Every question is multiple choice (3 or 4 options) and you can't use a dictionary.

In the A1 practice exams (Ad Appel, 2023): 9 texts, 19 questions; you need 14 correct answers to pass; time 35 minutes. In the old booklet: 6 texts, 12 questions, 9 correct, 12 minutes.

In the A2 practice exams (Ad Appel, 2018–2020): 10 texts, 25 questions; you need 18 correct to pass; time 65 minutes.

Time yourself with a clock, and at the end check your answers with the answer key. Always check the current time limits and rules of the real exam on the DUO website.
